Brian Meshkin has dedicated his career to public service, social entrepreneurship, innovation, and community leadership. His experience spans business, government, education, and the nonprofit sector, where he has consistently pursued initiatives with measurable social impact.
Tempered by adversity and proven through decades of leadership, Brian has successfully navigated and challenged some of the most powerful institutions and entrenched interests across business, government, healthcare, and public policy. His career reflects a rare combination of entrepreneurial innovation, civic leadership, and public service.
As a community activist, Meshkin helped transform the tragic loss of a close friend into a national effort focused on protecting children's lives. As the youngest elected member of the Howard County Public School System Board of Education, he championed initiatives that advanced digital education, environmental sustainability, student health, nutrition programs, and services for diverse communities. As a volunteer leader within his church, he has worked to strengthen interfaith relationships and support underserved populations.
As an entrepreneur and healthcare innovator, Meshkin has developed technologies that have received research recognition, informed clinical practice, and contributed to reimbursement frameworks that supported the growth of predictive healthcare, personalized medicine, and digital health. Recognition & Early Impact
Long before becoming a healthcare executive and entrepreneur, Brian Meshkin’s commitment to public service began as a teenager in Howard County, Maryland. At age 13, following the tragic death of his childhood friend, Chris Kelley, in a bicycle accident in front of his childhood home, Brian transformed personal tragedy into a lifelong mission of service and advocacy. He helped lead a grassroots campaign that resulted in the passage of the nation’s first child bicycle helmet laws for youth under 16. He continued advocating across Maryland and throughout the United States, collaborating with Safe Kids Worldwide and other organizations and helping advance more than 300 similar laws nationwide. His leadership earned national recognition, including being named one of The Baltimore Sun’s “Earthly Angels.” His story was also featured in Wendy Schnitzel Lesko’s book, America’s Young Activists Are Changing Our World and You Can Too!. These early efforts established a lifelong commitment to public service, social entrepreneurship, and civic leadership, principles that would ultimately shape his work across healthcare, technology, and community impact.
Building a Career in Healthcare Innovation
Brian began his professional career in healthcare innovation, holding innovation roles with organizations including Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lilly, where he contributed to initiatives spanning patient advocacy, corporate venture capital, and digital health. Over the course of his career, he has founded and led companies dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes through technology, data, and personalized medicine.
Today, Brian serves as Founder and Chairman of a portfolio of companies united by a mission to rebuild the health and wellness system through advanced technologies, making it more predictive, principled, preventative, and personalized. He founded Labarium, where he is focused on building the infrastructure for Predictive Healthcare by combining clinical data, advanced analytics, and precision medicine approaches to improve healthcare decision-making. He also founded HumAInity, an initiative focused on using artificial intelligence to extend human connection in healthcare while addressing the socioeconomic barriers, including poverty, that can interfere with human health and wellness.
